Fishing in Oregon is one of the popular year-around activities for individuals and families.  There are abundant Oregon fishing opportunities in alpine lakes, inland rivers, low elevation lakes, coastal rivers and bays, and in the ocean.

For Oregon coast fishing, the many coastal rivers often offer a bay with easy access for light boating and in some cases fishing from the shore.  Salmon fishing in Oregon is legendary, and Tillamook Bay offers excellent angling experiences for many.  However, the smaller Nehalem Bay offers perhaps the easiest Oregon fishing access with Front Row Accommodations at Wheeler on the Bay Lodge.  You can literally watch Oregon fish and wildlife just a few feet away.  On your next Salmon or Steelhead fishing trip, moor your boat on our private dock! 

While Chinook and COHO Silver salmon are the most commonly sought, Steelhead and Sturgeon catches have become popular in Nehalem Bay in recent years. 

In an off season for fishing, you can still enjoy the abundant wildlife either from our dock or by kayaking to get “up close and personal” with nature.   The marshes and tall grass areas of the bay have pockets and small mazes for easy water paddling, and are home to dozens of species of birds and other critters.

Oregon crabbing is also a popular and bountiful activity in Nehalem Bay.  We are here to help your fishing and crabbing vacation be successful, and have a grill and refrigeration available to cook and store your catch!
